A BRIEF PROPHETIC WORD FOR ROSH HASHANAH

A Tale of Two Women

Herein lies the story of two women. Rachel and Leah. Jacob (Israel) loved Rachel, yet he didn't love Leah that much. These two women are two houses - the house of Israel and the house of Messiah. Let me explain.

Leah gave birth to a son and named him Judah, which means praise. It is written that the Messiah would come forth from the tribe of Judah - that is - the descendants of Judah; from his tribe One would come forth Who was to be Ruler over all Israel, and His going forth is from everlasting, even from eternity.

Rachel gave birth to one son, yet Leah gave birth to many. Both were wives to Jacob (Israel); both were loved, but it was Rachel whom Jacob (Israel) loved more. And his love for Rachel made his love for Leah seem like hate by comparison, yet it was through Leah that God blessed Jacob with many children.

So it is with Messiah. Jacob (Israel) has had many children, but the children of the "despised" woman (Leah) have been more numerous than those of the "beloved" woman (Rachel).

And it was the :"despised" woman who bore Jacob his son to Judah through whom Messiah came. Like the "despised" woman (Leah), Messiah has been despised and rejected by the sons of Jacob (Israel), but it is through the Messiah that Jacob has been given many more children - the nations , and by Judah (the Messiah) through whom reconciliation between the Jewish people and the people of the nations will come.

What's more, it can be said also that it is through the Messiah that ultimately both houses - the house of Israel (Jacob) and the house of Messiah (the nations) - will be made one.

Some day, Jacob (Israel) will welcome the Son of Judah (Messiah) into his tent, and Leah's Child (the Messiah) and all of His children (the nations) will also be part of Jacob's house - the Israel of God.

And when that day comes to pass, it will be like life from the dead for ALL ISRAEL WILL BE SAVED. On that day the people of God will enter their Sabbath rest, and God's work will be complete and He will rest from it with regards to His people Israel (the Remnant of believing Jews and Gentiles in Messiah).

L'shanah tovah tikatev v'taihatem (May you be inscribed and sealed for a good year)
