David,
You know, I’ve looked your book over, and I’ve just got to tell you that you’ve got a lot of nerve accusing Rabbi Cahn of not sharing the Gospel in The Harbinger, and accusing him of confusing the covenants, as well as inferring that he elevates the rabbis above Scripture, and other charges that have absolutely no foundation in reality, but only in the convoluted thinking of your existential mind.
David, you give Sensus Plenior a new meaning. You take something someone else wrote, then you apply your own interpretation of what you think that person has written, then posit what you think they meant in your estimation. But you don’t stop there; you add to that an accusation against that person based upon your own Sensus Plenior (fuller meaning according to your interpretation) of what that person wrote. That is truly amazing; I believe that this is a first in theology.
Every charge you make against him in your book is unfounded and would not hold up to cross examination and either empirical or circumstantial evidence in a court of law, let alone in a debate. There is not A SINGLE CHARGE in your book that has any merit, either biblically or hermeneutically. But one would have to have read The Harbinger to realize that, and know each point of attack you utilize.
What amazes me is how many people you’ve convinced among your colleagues that what you have written is “sacrosanct” and infallible without each one of them doing their own homework into the charges you’ve made and examining each one to the book itself. This is a case where the prejudice of knowing you has compromised their capacity for truly objective and truthful scholarship. Rather than being “yes” men, if they were truly honest with you, they’d be brutally honest and take each point you’ve made and explain to you with painstaking detail where you’ve misread or misapplied the information. I intend to do that, not necessarily to prove you wrong; but to help you get to the truth, and if the Lord wills, lift this pathetic and contemptible controversy from the body of Christ once and for all.
Your interview with Susan is another example of what I refer to willful misleading and mischaracterizing on your part. Will you not cease to accuse your brother in Christ needlessly and mischaracterize him without cause before a live audience of countless numbers? Will you not cease this horrendous and evil enterprise, and rather either debate the matter point by point, charge by charge biblically, or just seek God with all of your heart in repentance for what you’ve done and continue doing!?
You won’t allow me to quote your book at length. Very well, I will quote what is necessary and use the same excuse you used to quote from The Harbinger WITHOUT the consent of either its author or the publisher. I would have appreciated at the very least the courtesy of a reply from you either consenting that I use your book as source material as well as Jonathan Cahn’s and The Harbinger Companion and Study Guide, as well as my own copious notes on proper hermeneutics, but I will have to be selective as to what to use regarding your book and will only suffice to cite page and content rather than quote. That will do.
Perhaps your non-response appears to be justified to you, inasmuch as you believe I am stirring things up a bit more and you might even accuse me of “causing dissension in the body” as you have Jonathan Cahn, when it was you and your colleagues who initiated the first broadside against his book and have for over a year been pursuing nothing short of a witch hunt against him and against his book. Your actions, and those of your colleagues speak for themselves.
I told you in the beginning that the wheat would become evident from the chaff. Do you know what is done with chaff? It is burned David. Do you want to go through the fires of God’s chastisement and correction for an obstinate stance against anyone who will approach you as a brother or sister in Christ and berate you about this entire affair!? Do you realize what you have done and what you and your colleagues are doing!?
Your brother in Christ has done you no harm, nor has he lifted his voice against you as you and your bellicose colleagues have against him. HOW CAN YOU PRAY TO GOD AND EXPECT FORGIVENESS AND GRACE, WHEN YOU DENY THE VERY SAME DAY AFTER DAY AGAINST ANOTHER OF GOD’S ANOINTED!? JUST WHO DO YOU, BRANNON HOWSE, TA MCMAHON, AND THE REST THINK YOU ARE!!!??? YOU STAND AS JUDGE, JURY, AND EXECUTIONER OF ANOTHER, AND IN VIOLATION OF GOD’S LAW ALL OF YOU ACT AS FALSE WITNESSES AGAINST HIM BEFORE THE BAR OF PUBLIC OPINION!!!
MARK MY WORDS HERE, AND LET ME MAKE MYSELF VERY CLEAR IN THS MATTER; YOU AND THEY WILL BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE BY GOD FOR EVERY IDLE WORD, EVERY RUMOR, EVERY STORY, EVERY ACCUSATION, AND EVERYTHING YOU AND THEY HAVE DONE TO HARM JONATHAN CAHN AND OTHERS LIKE HIM, AND YOU WILL MOST ASSUREDLY BE WITNESSES OF YOUR OWN DEMISE AS A CONSEQUENCE OF THE MANY VIOLATIONS OF GOD’S WORD YOU HAVE COMMITTED AGAINST HIM AND OTHERS LIKE HIM. YOU THINK THESE ARE JUST WORDS… THEN WATCH WHAT YOU WILL REAP IN THE COMING DAYS FOR WHAT YOU HAVE SOWN.
You cannot act with contempt against another and with the same breath claim to serve the God of heaven that other person serves. You may justify yourself by claiming that the other person whom you target is not a servant of the Most High. You can make any claim and believe anything you want or convince yourself of; but in the end, the One who determines the outcome will be God, and your protestations and accusations, and self-justifications will crumble like a house of cheap cards. Your works will be burned up. Is that what you want?
Do you really have any sense of decency? You and your colleagues? Do you have no sense of honor? Behold, your brother does nothing against you, says nothing against you, even ignores you; but you and your colleagues continue day after day, week after week, to bow to the idol of “Discernment” as you call it, and turn the once good work of Christian Apologetics in on other Christians, using methods against them that were never used against cults and false teachers.
DO YOU REALIZE WHAT YOU’VE BEEN DOING; YOU AND YOUR COLLEAGUES!? Look, you don’t have to answer this if you don’t want to. In fact, I do not expect you to answer at all, but to do what people usually do when they’ve been caught with their hand in the “proverbial cookie jar,” they ignore and hope that the other person will go away. I won’t go away, David. I am compelled by the Gospel and by the truth in Jesus Christ Our Lord to pursue this matter, and take it piece by piece and shine the light of biblical truth to it, until it is laid to rest.
There are biblical methods that you and they could’ve used, but you’ve chosen a “scorched earth” route instead. Perhaps you believed that this would be the best way to garner publicity for your own book, and with it ride the coattails of The Harbinger, while earning a reputation for yourself. I don’t’ know, only God can answer such questions and it is these that will determine the outcome of your enterprise and your ministry. He will be the Judge.
